How many times have you purchased art for your home only to realize that it was just too big or too small? If you’re like most homeowners, that probably happens at least once every few years. To make sure you end up with wall art prints that are the right size, we’ve put together some helpful tips and suggestions below on what to keep in mind when shopping for them. It’s always a good idea to start with the size of your walls and work your way backwards from there to find pieces that will fit your space perfectly. Check Wall Art for Living Room
Know the rules of wall art hanging. The art should be 4/7 to 3/4 times as wide as the furniture above it. The piece's center should be approximately 58 inches high. This is the height that paintings are expected to be in an art gallery. The piece's bottom should be 6-12 inches above the nearest piece of furniture. Try Large Canvas Art for Living Room
There are two common mistakes when hanging wall art. First, create a small art island in the middle of a wall. The second is to hang a piece high enough that it requires a stepladder.
To find the right size, measure the width of the furniture and multiply that number by.57 (4/7) then.75 (3/3). This will give you the range for the size of the art. If your sofa measures 84 inches in width, your art should measure between 47 and 63 inches.
The same principles apply whether you are hanging one piece or making a gallery wall. To cover the recommended width, use multiple pieces. Space pieces 2-4" apart. These spaces should be taken into consideration when you calculate the total width. Buy Decorative Wall Prints here
